Paying tribute to the Austrian capital’s musical heritage, Polène’s boutique is set on the majestic Michaelerplatz square, across from the Imperial Palace, where the prestigious Kohlmarkt street begins.
Designed as a contemporary auditorium, the boutique showcases an architectural composition of forms, materials, and light inflected with musical rhythm. Wide leather panels crafted by the Maison’s artisans in Ubrique cover the ceiling, evoking the acoustic panels present in concert halls, while locally woven Vienna straw brings the city’s traditional craftsmanship into contact with Polène’s own expertise.
On the ground floor, an immersive installation inspired by music boxes invites visitors to set a leather ribbon in motion and make music ring out, offering a multisensory experience in which gesture, sound, and material become one.
At the top of the stairs, a creation by the Viennese glass artist Robert Comploj is displayed. Designed especially for Polène, this blown-glass totemic form plays on the illusion of leather, and interacts with natural light.
